About Official Short Stay and Premium Short Stay
Short Stay is Gatwick's closest parking, with car parks beside the North and South Terminals. Premium Short Stay takes the best spaces, on the same level as check-in.
Official Short Stay sits beside each terminal. At North it uses Car Parks 5 and 6, postcode RH6 0PJ. At South it uses Car Parks 1, 2 and 3, postcode RH6 0LL. Gatwick describes a four-minute covered walk to check-in, and you keep your keys.
Premium Short Stay is the closest parking at Gatwick. It sits in Car Park 5 at North and Car Park 3 at South, with same-level access and a two-minute covered walk. It is barrier controlled, with regular security patrols.
Both are priced for short visits. On our sample dates, Premium Short Stay is the dearest product we bring you at Gatwick. For trips of a day or two they make sense, and over a week they cost several times the budget options.
Location and getting there
Gatwick sits beside the M23, with a spur road from Junction 9 to both terminals. Follow the signs for your terminal, then Short Stay, using the postcode in your confirmation.
The walk is only a few minutes, so most of your time goes on the drive and finding a space. Allow a little extra at busy times.

Security at Official Short Stay and Premium Short Stay
Gatwick states that this car park holds Park Mark Safer Parking approval, the police-backed award for car parks with proper lighting, surveillance and management. Its own security staff patrol the site. Take valuables with you and leave nothing on show.

Express pick-up and the evening deal
The express pick-up bays sit inside Short Stay: Car Park 6 Level 4 at North and Car Park 3 ground floor at South. They charge normal Short Stay rates, and Gatwick warns that unattended cars may get a Parking Charge Notice. At South, Short Stay costs £25 flat from 5pm to 2am when booked in advance.
Blue Badge concession
Blue Badge holders can park in Premium Short Stay at the standard Short Stay rate for up to four hours. Press the assistance button on entry and the intercom on exit so staff can apply it. Stay longer and the full Premium rate applies to the whole visit.

Follow the directions in your booking confirmation to reach Official Short Stay and Premium Short Stay. The steps below show how the day works.
- Drive to your terminal's Short Stay, using the postcode in your confirmation.
- Enter the car park number in your confirmation.
- Park, note your level and bay, and keep your keys.
- Walk to check-in: four minutes, or two from Premium.
