Parking at Birmingham Airport is simple in one way. There is one terminal, so there is no terminal to choose. The multi-storeys sit a minute away, surface car parks a short walk or bus ride out, and Car Park 7 across the runway. Car Park 3 Priority costs about £106 more than Green Oaks for eight days. You see the full price before you pay, with free cancellation within 24 hours of booking.

The pattern is clear: the closer to the terminal, the higher the price. Car Parks 1, 2 and 3 and Priority sit at the top; the off-airport sites and Car Parks 7 and 5 at the bottom. Because the terminal is compact, even the far car parks are no more than a short bus ride away.

Official on-airport car parks at Birmingham

The airport runs Car Parks 1, 2 and 3, 3 Priority, 4, 5 and 7, plus Valet Parking. You keep your keys at all but Car Park 7 and the Valet.

The airport says all its car parks are within ten minutes of check-in. It also sells a Premium Pre-booked product, the closest bookable spaces to the terminal, which is not in our price sheet.

The multi-storeys by the terminal

Car Parks 1, 2 and 3 are undercover multi-storeys opposite the terminal, a very short walk from check-in.

Car Park 1 has the higher height limit and dedicated motorcycle spaces; Car Parks 2 and 3 cost less for the same walk. Car Park 3 Priority adds pre-book-only ground-level bays marked in blue. For a night or two away, these are hard to beat. Our Birmingham short stay page compares them.

Car Parks 4, 5 and 7

The surface car parks trade a short walk or bus for a lower price.

Car Park 4 has a covered walkway of three to five minutes and a 24-hour shuttle. Car Park 5 is a walk of five to ten minutes, with a free bus and no height limit, and is the airport's suggestion for pick-ups. Car Park 7 sits across the runway at a different postcode; pre-booked customers leave their keys at the office and ride a courtesy bus. See our Birmingham long stay page.

Off-airport park and ride

Green Oaks and APL are the cheapest; Airparks and APH run sites at Garretts Green, Bickenhill and the NEC.

Mackadown Lane in Garretts Green and Bickenhill Parkway are Airparks sites, and APH sells products from both; APH Express is at the NEC West Car Park. Our Birmingham park and ride page has every detail.

Meet and greet at Birmingham Airport

Three products take your keys at the start: the official Valet, Car Park 7 for pre-booked customers, and Maple Parking.

The Valet, run with NCP, uses a cabin beside the terminal. Car Park 7's handover is at its office across the runway, followed by a courtesy bus. Maple meets you outside departures. Our Birmingham meet and greet page compares them.

Dropping off and picking up at Birmingham Airport

The Drop Off Car Park is free for 10 minutes; Premium Set Down, right outside, costs £8 for up to 15 minutes.

Both are barrierless and must be paid within 24 hours, at a machine, through Post Pay or by AutoPay. Charges rose by £1 on 6 August 2026. Returning to the Drop Off Car Park within the hour loses the free period. Blue Badge holders get 30 minutes free at Premium Set Down when validated. For collecting arrivals, the airport points drivers to Car Park 5. Full details are in our Birmingham drop-off and pick-up page.

Electric vehicles

The airport does not list EV charging in any of its car parks.

Airparks sells a Charge & Go product at Mackadown Lane with four 7kW points, which is not in our price sheet. Most electric cars manage the round trip on one charge; our Birmingham EV page covers planning.

Choosing the right car park for your trip

Short trips favour the multi-storeys; long trips the surface and off-airport sites.

The cheapest ways to park

Green Oaks is the cheapest product we sell; Car Park 7 the cheapest official; Car Park 5 the cheapest where you keep your keys.

Each step down in price adds a little distance or takes your keys. For a week away, the saving over the terminal car parks is large; for a night, it is small. Our cheap Birmingham parking page sets out the trades.

Turn-up tariffs

The terminal car parks and Car Parks 4 and 5 charge £67 a day to turn up; Car Park 7 charges less.

Birmingham Airport parking savings

Eight turn-up days at £67 cost several times the pre-booked price. The airport says booking ahead saves up to 70%. Our Birmingham parking prices page lists every tariff.

Keeping your keys, or handing them over

At Birmingham, whether you keep your keys depends on the product more than the operator.

You keep your keysYou hand them over
Car Parks 1, 2 & 3, 3 Priority, 4 and 5Car Park 7 (pre-booked) and the Valet
APH Self Park, Short Run and ExpressAPH and Airparks Drop & Go
Airparks Short Run, per AirparksGreen Oaks, APL and Maple

Key-drop products can park cars more tightly, which is part of why they cost less. Take house keys off the ring before handing over, and note the mileage and the car's condition.

Parking with a family

With children and luggage, the shortest route to check-in is worth paying for.

Car Parks 2 and 3 put the car a minute from the terminal, with lifts to every level. The Valet takes the car at a cabin beside the terminal. For a longer trip on a budget, Car Park 5 lets you keep your keys and ride a free bus that runs every 15 minutes, day and night. Off-airport, APH Express and the Short Run products keep the bus to a few minutes. Allow extra time on school-holiday mornings, when the approach roads and car parks are at their busiest.

Accessibility and Blue Badge parking

Every official car park has Blue Badge bays, and Blue Badge holders get 30 minutes free in several of them.

Car Park 1 has 56 bays next to the pedestrian exit; Car Park 5 has 30 in the first lane on the right; Car Park 7 has 10. Validate the badge at the NCP Customer Service Cabin in the Premium Set Down car park for the free 30 minutes. Car Park 4's shuttle is accessible, and Airparks says its Drop & Go buses lower and carry a wheelchair space. Book special assistance through your airline for help through the terminal.

Getting there without the car

Birmingham International station links to the terminal by the free AIR-Rail Link.

Direct trains run from Birmingham New Street, Coventry, London Euston and further afield. For a solo traveller on a short trip, the train can cost less than parking and avoids the M42 at rush hour. A lift to the nearest station avoids the drop-off charges too.

Busy days at Birmingham

School holidays, early summer mornings and big events at the NEC all add time on the approach.

The airport shares its road network with the NEC and the M42 interchange, so a major exhibition or concert can slow the final miles. On peak holiday mornings, the car parks and the drop-off areas are at their busiest. Allow an extra half hour on those days, book the car park well ahead, and have the confirmation ready at the barrier or reception. The cheapest products sell out first, so the earlier you book for a busy week, the more choice you have.

The airport says all its car parks have Park Mark safer parking status, with CCTV and regular patrols.

How booking with us works

Search, compare and book in minutes.

  1. Search. Enter your dates above to see live prices.
  2. Compare. All sixteen products appear with prices.
  3. Book. Pay securely; the saving shows first.
  4. Travel. Follow the directions in your confirmation.

Keep the confirmation on your phone: it has the car park, the postcode and any number to call. For the official car parks, the barrier reads your number plate, so make sure the registration on the booking matches the car you drive. For off-airport products, the confirmation also explains the return routine, from Bus Stop A for the APH and Airparks sites to a phone call for APL and Green Oaks. To change dates, amend the booking rather than paying overstay rates on the day; bookings made with us can be cancelled free within 24 hours of booking. And for any question, from which car park takes a tall van to where to wait for a delayed flight, our team is on the phone number below.
