Inside Official Car Park 7
Car Park 7 is the cheapest car park Birmingham Airport runs, and it works differently from the rest. It sits across the runway from the terminal, and pre-booked customers leave their keys at the office while staff park the car. A courtesy bus then takes you to the terminal. That handover is the whole trade: a lower price in return for giving up your keys.
Car Park 7 is on the opposite side of the runway from the terminal. Its postcode is B26 3QW, different from the terminal car parks, so enter the right one in the sat-nav.
For pre-booked customers it is a meet and greet product. You go to the office near the entrance, where staff greet you, take your keys and park the car. A courtesy bus runs from the stop near the office up to four times an hour, taking around 10 to 15 minutes to the terminal.
On the way home, the courtesy bus collects you from bus stop D outside the terminal, and you pick up your keys at the office. The airport says Car Park 7 holds Park Mark Safer Parking accreditation, and has 10 bays for disabled drivers.
Directions
Birmingham Airport sits beside the NEC, east of the city, reached from Junction 6 of the M42 and the A45. Follow the M42 to Junction 6 and the A45 towards Birmingham. At the lights, take the right filter into Terminal Way, then the second right onto Falcon Way; the entrance is 300 metres on the left.

The trade: price for keys
Every other official car park lets you keep your keys. Car Park 7 is cheaper because staff park the cars, which lets the airport use the space more efficiently. For most travellers that is a fair exchange. Those who prefer to keep their keys should look at Car Park 5, the cheapest official option where you park yourself.
Building in the bus
Allow for the drive round the airport, the handover at the office, a wait of up to 15 minutes and the ride itself. In practice that is 30 to 40 minutes from arriving at Car Park 7 to walking into the terminal on a normal day.
Turning up
Car Park 7 also has a turn-up tariff, from £2.60 for up to 90 minutes to £51 for a day and £44 for each extra day. For a trip, the pre-booked price with our code costs less, and it is the only way to use the meet and greet service.
