Airport Fast Track Security is a dedicated priority lane at security that you pre-book for a small fee. You still go through the same screening - you just join a shorter queue, which can save time at busy airports.
How it works
Book a pass online for your airport, receive a confirmation or QR code, then follow the Fast Track signs at security after check-in and bag drop. Booking ahead is usually up to 20% cheaper than buying on the day, and some airports include Fast Track free when you book premium or multi-storey parking.
Is it worth it?
Fast Track earns its fee at peak times - early departures, school holidays and bank holidays - and at airports known for longer security queues such as Birmingham and Stansted. At quiet times the standard lane can be just as quick, and no airport guarantees a shorter wait, so weigh up the likely queue on your travel day.

How much does airport Fast Track cost?
It varies by airport, from around £5 per person at most UK airports, rising to about £13 per person at Heathrow. Booking online in advance is usually up to 20% cheaper than buying on the day. Prices were correct as of June 2026.
Does Fast Track guarantee you skip the queue?
No. It gives you a dedicated priority lane, but airports do not guarantee a shorter wait and at quiet times the standard lane can be just as quick. You still pass through the same security screening.
Do children need a Fast Track pass?
Usually yes, including babies at many airports, though some let under-2s travel free (and a few allow older children free). Manchester and Stansted do not allow pushchairs or car seats in the Fast Track lane. Always check your airport first.
Is Fast Track worth it?
It is most worthwhile at peak times, school holidays and at airports known for longer queues, or if you are travelling with children or are short on time. At quiet periods it may not save much.
