What parking at Liverpool costs
Eight days at Liverpool run from Imagine Outdoor at the bottom to the Fast Track Family and VIP tiers at the top.
There are nine products in our comparison: seven run by the airport and two from Imagine, an off-airport operator in Speke. Each row shows what kind of parking it is, how you get to the terminal and the eight-day total. Click a name for its guide.

Two things stand out. The airport's own Meet & Greet costs less than its multi-storey, which is rare. And the cheapest official product, Park Smart, is only a few pounds above the off-airport sites, because at Liverpool the off-airport operators cannot sell convenience: everything is already walkable.
Minutes, not miles
Liverpool John Lennon is one of the most compact airports in the UK to park at: the furthest official car park is around a seven-minute walk.
| Car park | On foot to the terminal | Keys |
|---|---|---|
| Multi-Storey (Short Stay) | About 1 minute, undercover | You keep them |
| Official Meet & Greet | About 1 minute, covered walkway | Kiosk |
| Official Fast Track Parking | About 1 minute, covered walkway | You keep them |
| Official Long Stay | 1 to 4 minutes | You keep them |
| Imagine Parking Outdoor | About 4 minutes | Left at reception |
| Official Park Smart | About 5 to 7 minutes | You keep them |
Most of the airport's car parks sit within a short walk of the terminal at Speke. There is no shuttle timetable to check and no bus to miss on the way home. That changes how you should choose: instead of weighing transfer times, look at the height of your car, whether you want to keep your keys and whether a security pass is worth having.
The airport's own car parks
Liverpool John Lennon Airport runs the multi-storey, Long Stay, Park Smart, Meet & Greet and three tiers of Fast Track Parking.
The short stay car park, undercover and opposite the terminal.
A short walk, no height limit, two EV chargers.
The cheapest car park the airport runs, formerly iPark.
Lanes, a self-service key kiosk and a covered walkway.
A minute from the terminal, with security passes included.
Premium tiers with more passes and space.
The airport describes 24-hour patrols and CCTV by its own car park security team, and number plate recognition opens the barriers. It does not state a Park Mark award, so we do not claim one. Disabled bays are available in all its car parks, per its booking site.
Height limits and larger vehicles
The multi-storey's barrier is 1.95m, low enough to stop most roof boxes. Long Stay and the Fast Track car parks have no height limit.
| Car park | Height or vehicle limit |
|---|---|
| Multi-Storey | Low barrier, check before booking |
| Official Long Stay | No height limit |
| Official Fast Track Parking | No height limit |
| Official Park Smart | The airport's pick for larger vehicles |
| Official Meet & Greet | No vans or minibuses |
| Imagine Meet & Greet | Taller vehicles accepted (reseller) |
Vehicles that need more than one space are booked through the airport's call centre, and trailers or coaches need notice in advance. For a family holiday with a roof box, Long Stay is the value choice; for the shortest walk with a tall car, Fast Track Parking.
Fast Track Parking and security passes
Fast Track Parking puts you a minute from the terminal and includes two Fast Track security passes. The Family tier includes four.
Fast Track
Two security passes, a covered walkway to the terminal and no height limit. You keep your keys.
Fast Track Family
Four passes, two adult and two child, wider bays for child seats and a separate entrance, per reseller listings.
A VIP tier costs the same as Family on our dates. The airport has not published its extras in a form we could check, so confirm them at checkout. For a family who would buy passes anyway, the Family tier can be the better deal. See the Fast Track Parking page.
Meet and greet and the key kiosk
The airport's Meet & Greet has no driver at the kerb: you leave the car in a lane, post your keys into a self-service kiosk and walk in under cover.
- Take the RVP Road. Turn left before the final roundabout, signed Fast Track Parking.
- Find the plinth. Meet & Greet is on the right.
- Drop your keys. At the self-service kiosk.
- Walk in. About a minute along the covered walkway.
It does not take vans or minibuses, and it offers EV charging as a paid extra. Imagine runs the alternative, with a representative beside the multi-storey. It costs more than the airport's service but takes taller vehicles. Our Liverpool meet and greet page compares the two.
Off-airport parking
Imagine Parking Outdoor is the lowest price we compare: a key handover at Imagine's site on the Skypark Industrial Estate, a few hundred yards from the terminal.
Hand over the car and keys at Imagine's reception, then walk about four minutes to the terminal.
A representative takes your keys beside the multi-storey.
Neither involves a shuttle; some resellers still list Imagine Outdoor as park and ride, but it is a handover. That is why the saving over the airport's own budget car parks is small. The real difference is keys: Imagine keeps them, Park Smart and Long Stay let you hold on to yours. Our Liverpool park and ride page sets them side by side.
Dropping off and picking up
Drop Off 2 is free for up to 20 minutes, once every two hours. Express Drop Off & Pick Up, by the terminal, is charged from the first minute.
Come back to Drop Off 2 too soon after a free visit and a minimum charge of £8 applies. Check for passports and phones before your passenger walks off.
Blue Badge holders can claim up to 40 minutes free in Express, but only when the badge holder is the one flying. Motorbikes park free in the Express car park. Drive into the wrong car park by mistake and the exit intercom can adjust the fee. Our Liverpool drop-off and pick-up guide covers the full tariff.
Overstay charges if your flight is delayed
The airport charges overstays per 24 hours or part of a day, after a short grace period, and the rate depends on the car park.
| Car park | Overstay per 24 hours |
|---|---|
| Official Long Stay | £15 |
| Official Park Smart | £15 |
| Multi-Storey | £20 |
| Official Meet & Greet | £25 |
| Fast Track and Family | £40 |
From the airport's help centre, April 2026. Check your booking terms, as rates change.
Few airports publish these figures, and they are exactly what you need when a return flight is cancelled. A day's overstay in Long Stay costs little more than a day's booking; in the Fast Track car parks it costs noticeably more. Amend your booking early when you can, and keep your booking reference handy for the exit barrier's help button.
Charging an electric car
Long Stay has two chargers for short-term use, and Meet & Greet offers charging as a paid extra. The multi-storey has none.
For a week away, the Meet & Greet add-on is the reliable way to come home to a charged car, because the Long Stay chargers are not meant for a car left plugged in for days. Fully electric cars have no low-emission charge to worry about at Liverpool, but arrive with enough range for the drive home in case the chargers are busy.
The cheapest ways to park
Imagine Outdoor and Park Smart are the two lowest prices on our sample dates. Long Stay follows close behind, a few pounds more over eight days.
| Car park | Per day | Walk | Keys |
|---|---|---|---|
| Imagine Parking Outdoor | £8.31 | About 4 min | Left at reception |
| Official Park Smart | £9.36 | About 5–7 min | You keep them |
| Official Long Stay | £10.24 | 1–4 min | You keep them |

The three sit within a couple of pounds a day of each other. Choose the one whose keys policy and walk suit you, book early, and let the code take up to 30% off. The exact saving on every product is on our Liverpool discount code page.
Getting to LPL by car
The airport is at Speke, on the south-east edge of Liverpool, postcode L24 1YD.
Leave at Junction 6 and follow the A5300 and A562 towards Speke and the airport.
Cross the Mersey on the tolled Mersey Gateway bridge at Runcorn, then follow the airport signs.
Speke Hall Avenue, Liverpool. Off-airport sites have their own postcodes.
From the M62, leave at Junction 6 and follow the airport signs through Knowsley and Speke. From Cheshire and the south, the tolled Mersey Gateway bridge at Runcorn is the direct crossing; pay the toll online by midnight the next day. As you near the terminal, the RVP Road for Meet & Greet and Fast Track Parking turns off left before the final roundabout.
Picking the right car park
Start with your car's height, then your trip length, then keys.
| Your situation | Try | Because |
|---|---|---|
| Lowest price | Imagine Parking Outdoor | Cheapest we compare |
| Keep your keys, low price | Official Park Smart | Cheapest the airport runs |
| Roof box or tall car | Official Long Stay | No height limit, short walk |
| A day or two, stay dry | The multi-storey | Undercover, a minute away |
| Hand over the car | Official Meet & Greet | Cheaper than the multi-storey |
| Skip the security queue | Official Fast Track Parking | Passes included |
Most drivers find their answer in the first two columns. When two options tie, let the walk decide: at Liverpool the difference between a minute and seven minutes is the difference between a covered route and an outdoor one.
Short trips and business travel
For a night or two away, the multi-storey and Fast Track Parking earn their price.
Over one or two days, the difference between the undercover multi-storey and a budget car park is small in pounds, and a minute's walk to the car on a late return is worth a lot. Fast Track Parking adds security passes, which save the most time on busy weekday mornings when business flights and holiday departures overlap. Check the height of your car first, because the multi-storey's barrier is low.
Travelling with children
Families have three good routes at Liverpool: Fast Track Family, the airport's Meet & Greet, or Long Stay with a short walk.
Fast Track Family bundles four security passes, wider bays for getting children in and out of car seats and its own entrance, per reseller listings. Meet & Greet removes the car park hunt entirely and costs less than the multi-storey. Long Stay suits families on a budget with a roof box, since it has no height limit and the walk takes only a few minutes.
Staying dry on the Mersey
The airport sits on the estuary, and wet, windy days are common, so covered routes matter.
The multi-storey is fully undercover, and both Meet & Greet and Fast Track Parking have a covered walkway to the terminal. From Long Stay, Park Smart and Imagine, you walk outside. On a winter trip, a car left undercover also comes back without frost to scrape off, which is a small comfort after a late flight home.
