Official Long Stay in brief
Long Stay at Liverpool is not a remote field with a bus. It is a walk-in car park one to four minutes from the terminal, with no height limit and two EV chargers. For a week away with a tall car or a roof box, it is the official car park to book.
Most UK airports put long stay parking out on the perimeter and run a bus. Liverpool's site is compact enough that Long Stay is a short walk from the terminal, between one and four minutes depending on your row.
There is no height restriction, so vans, tall 4x4s and cars with roof boxes or bike racks all fit. That sets it apart from the multi-storey, where the barrier stops anything over 1.95m.
Two EV chargers sit in Long Stay. The airport intends them for short-term use, so treat them as a top-up rather than a week-long parking space. Disabled bays are at the front, nearest the terminal, and you can leave a car for up to three months.
Finding it
Liverpool John Lennon Airport is at Speke, on the south-east edge of the city beside the Mersey estuary. Follow the airport signs, then Long Stay, as you reach the terminal area.
There is no bus to factor in, so allow for the drive, parking and a walk of a few minutes.

How Official Long Stay is kept secure
The airport describes 24-hour patrols and CCTV run by a dedicated car park security team, with number plate recognition at the barriers. It does not state a Park Mark award, so neither do we. Leave nothing on show in the car.

Using the EV chargers
The two chargers are there for short-term use, so arrive with enough range to get home in case both are taken. For a car that comes back charged after a week away, the official Meet & Greet offers Type 2 AC charging as a paid extra.
Long Stay or Park Smart

When your return flight slips
The airport's help centre (April 2026) lists overstay charges per 24 hours or part of a day: £15 in Long Stay and Park Smart, £20 in the Multi-Storey, £25 for Meet & Greet and £40 for the Fast Track car parks. In Long Stay, that means £15 a day on top of your booking.
