Every option here suits a week or more. The real differences are the transfer, whether you keep your keys, which terminals are served and whether the airport or an off-airport firm runs the site.
The official Park & Ride, formerly Long Stay
Heathrow renamed its Long Stay car parks as Park & Ride. There is one for Terminals 2 and 3, one for Terminal 4 and one for Terminal 5, each with free buses to the terminal.

Which long stay car park serves your terminal
Long stay at Heathrow is terminal-specific. Book the car park for the terminal on your ticket, not the nearest one on the map.

Park Inn serves every terminal through the paid Hoppa bus. Express Parking lists transfers to all four terminals.

The off-airport sites cost less than the official Park & Ride on our sample dates. Most take your keys, and most serve only some terminals.

The Park Inn and Hoppa sum
Park Inn has the lowest parking price, but the Hoppa bus is paid for each traveller. Reseller listings give £11 return per person.
For one traveller, Park Inn stays the cheapest trip. For a family of four, four return fares add £44, which brings the total close to Purple Parking, where the bus is free. Do the sum for your group before you book.

Keeping your keys on a long trip
The official Park & Ride, Priority Park & Ride and Pod Parking let you keep your keys. Purple Parking and most other off-airport sites hold them while you are away.
Key-drop sites hold keys so staff can move cars around a busy compound, which keeps prices down. Some drivers still prefer to keep their keys, especially with a keyless or high-value car. At Heathrow that choice costs a little more than the cheapest off-airport options over a week.

Pre-booked against drive-up
Heathrow's Park & Ride drive-up rate is £46.80 for the first day and £37.40 for each extra 24 hours. Eight days at that rate comes to £308.60.

Long stay at Terminal 4 after June 2026
The Terminal 4 Park & Ride is now the only official car park at Terminal 4. Terminal Parking and official Meet & Greet closed there on 23 June 2026.
Heathrow closed the Terminal 4 multi-storey on 23 June 2026. Terminal Parking and the official Meet & Greet no longer run at Terminal 4, and the Terminal 4 Park & Ride is now the only official car park there. The Terminal 4 Park & Ride is on Scylla Road, off the Southern Perimeter Road.

What to allow for the journey in
Allow for the drive, parking up, the wait for the bus and the ride. From the official Park & Ride, 30 minutes from the barrier to the terminal door is a sensible allowance.
- Drive to your car park. Use the postcode in your confirmation, not the terminal's.
- Park or check in. At the official Park & Ride, park and keep your keys. At an off-airport site, check in and hand over your keys.
- Take the transfer. Official buses run every 15 minutes. Off-airport buses follow their own timings.
- Walk to check-in. Buses drop you close to the terminal entrance.
Long stay and the ULEZ
Heathrow sits inside London's Ultra Low Emission Zone. Non-compliant cars pay a daily charge for days driven in the zone.
For self-park car parks, Heathrow says you pay for the days you arrive in the car park, normally the days you drive in and out. A car standing in a car park all week does not rack up a daily charge. Check your car on Transport for London's checker before you travel.
Security on a long stay
Heathrow describes round-the-clock patrols and automated barriers at its Park & Ride car parks. Purple Parking describes a Park Mark Safer Parking Award, CCTV and fencing.
