Long stay options at Birmingham Airport
Birmingham has three kinds of long stay: off-airport park and ride, the airport's own Car Parks 7, 5 and 4, and meet and greet. Green Oaks and APL cost less than any official car park on our 8-day quotes.

Off-airport park and ride
Off-airport park and ride is the cheapest way to leave a car at Birmingham for a week. Green Oaks costs £21.69 less than Car Park 7 and £39.19 less than Car Park 5 for 8 days.
You drive to a private car park near the airport and take a bus to the terminal. APL runs around the clock, about three miles out. The APH and Airparks sites sit at Garretts Green, Bickenhill and the NEC, with buses of 3 to 14 minutes. APH Self Park lets you keep your keys for 70p more than Car Park 5 over 8 days. The airport's own long stay
Car Park 7 is the cheapest official option. Car Park 5 is the cheapest where you keep your keys, and Car Park 4 has a covered walk to the terminal.
Car Park 7 sits across the runway. Pre-booked customers leave their keys at the office and take a courtesy bus. Car Park 5 has no height limit and a free bus. Meet and greet for a longer trip
Meet and greet costs more than park and ride for a week, but it removes the bus at both ends. The official Valet costs £14.01 more than Car Park 5 for 8 days.
At the Valet cabin by the terminal, a chauffeur takes your keys and the car stays on the airport site. Maple meets you outside departures and drives the car to its own secure car park. Long stay prices against the turn-up rate
Booking ahead costs far less than turning up. Eight days at the Car Park 5 turn-up rate cost £536. Booked with us, the same stay costs £83.99.

Once the price is set, three things decide a long stay option: who holds the keys, whether the transfer runs at night, and the height of your vehicle.

Keeping your keys
On a long trip, the key question is literal: who holds them.
You keep them at Car Parks 4 and 5, APH Self Park, APH Short Run, APH Express and Airparks Short Run. Staff hold them at Car Park 7, Green Oaks, APL, the Valet, Maple and both Drop & Go sites. Key-drop sites move cars to use space efficiently, which keeps prices down. Take house keys off the ring before you hand them over.
Late landings and early starts
Check that the transfer runs when your flight lands.
The airport's Car Park 4 shuttle runs 24 hours a day. APL, APH Short Run and APH Express run round the clock too. Green Oaks operates from 04:00 to 23:59, so a delayed flight landing after midnight needs a different plan.
Vans, roof boxes and larger cars
Car Park 5 has no height limit. Most off-airport sites stop at about 2 to 2.1 metres.
The Airparks and APH sites accept cars under 2.1 metres that fit a 2m by 5m bay, with no minibuses, motorhomes or trailers. APL lists a 2-metre limit. For a campervan or a tall van, Car Park 5 is the straightforward choice.
While you are away
Leave nothing of value in the car and prepare it for a week outdoors.
The airport says all its car parks hold Park Mark safer parking status, with CCTV and regular patrols. Off-airport operators describe CCTV, fencing, patrols and barriers; we report those as their descriptions.
Before you leave the car
Four checks take a couple of minutes.
- Valuables out. Nothing on show.
- House keys off. For key-drop sites.
- Note the bay. Photo of the row sign.
- Check the fuel. Enough for the drive home.
Winter trips
Surface car parks are open to the weather, so plan for frost.
Leave a scraper and de-icer in the car, and keep a warm layer in your hand luggage for the wait at the bus stop. Car Park 4's covered walkway is the best official option for a dry walk in winter.

APH Self Park and the APH and Airparks Drop & Go sites are at Mackadown Lane, Garretts Green (B33 0JD). APH Short Run is at Bickenhill Parkway (B40 1QB), and APH Express at the NEC West Car Park (B37 7BQ). Use the postcode in your confirmation, not the airport's.
Allow 30 to 40 minutes from parking to check-in at Car Park 7, and around 15 minutes at Car Park 5.

APH offers a discretionary grace period to midnight, then charges £20 for each extra day.
