The airport's JetParks

JetParks are the airport's own long stay: free buses, keep your keys, three days minimum.

JetParks 3 serves both terminals with a bus every 15 minutes, day and night. JetParks 1 on Thorley Lane serves Terminal 2 only, about five minutes by shuttle, and resellers describe its surface as gravel. See the JetParks guide.

Mid Stay without a bus

Mid Stay lets you walk in: P12 to Terminal 2 under cover in 10 to 15 minutes, or P15 to Terminal 3 in five to ten.

It costs more than the JetParks and less than the terminal multi-storeys. P12 has no minimum stay; P15 needs three days. The airport restricts some heavier vehicles, so use its eligibility checker. See the Mid Stay guide.

Maple: the lowest price, the longest ride

Maple's Carrington site is the cheapest we compare, with a shuttle every 20 minutes taking 20 to 30.

You hand your keys in at reception. On return you call for the shuttle. The saving over JetParks 3 is real, but so is the extra time at both ends. See the Maple guide.

APH at Sharston

APH runs a bus every 15 minutes from Sharston, about ten minutes to the terminals.

Choose Park & Ride to hand in your keys, the EV version to have the car charged to full, or Self Park to keep your keys. See the APH guide.

Long stays with a handover

Drop & Go and Meet & Greet suit longer trips, with minimum stays of four days.

Drop & Go is one of the lowest-priced official products on our dates. Meet & Greet (P1) serves Terminal 2. Both mean no bus and a short walk. See our Manchester meet and greet page.

Minimum stays

Several Manchester products will not take a short booking.

For a one- or two-night trip, look at Mid Stay P12 or the terminal multi-storeys.

Keys

Keep your keys at the JetParks, Mid Stay and APH Self Park.

Maple, APH Park & Ride and the airport's handover products hold them so staff can park the car. For keyless or high-value cars, some drivers prefer to hold on to their keys and pay the difference.

Tall vehicles on a long trip

The multi-storeys and the airport's handover products have a 2m limit, and Mid Stay restricts some heavier vehicles.

APH gives 2.4m. For a van or a tall 4x4, the JetParks and the off-airport sites are the places to look; check the operator's limits in your confirmation.

When your flight home is late

Overstay charges apply only if you leave more than six hours after your booked time, per the airport.

That six-hour grace period is generous. Beyond it, the airport charges its overstay rate for each extra day. Maple lists £15 a day. Amend the booking early when you know your plans have changed.

The 2026 changes

Terminal 1 closed in March 2026, and the airport renumbered its car parks into a P1 to P16 scheme at the same time.

Long stay guides written before 2026 often mention Terminal 1 or old car park names. Follow the P-number in your confirmation. The old Terminal 1 multi-storey is now Mid Stay (P12), and the old T2 East multi-storey is now the Meet & Greet car park (P1).

Families on a long trip

With children and a fortnight's luggage, the transfer matters as much as the price.

A shuttle with cases and a pushchair is manageable, but it adds waiting at both ends. Mid Stay's covered walk suits families travelling light; the handover products suit families with lots to carry. For the lowest cost, JetParks 3 keeps the bus short and runs through the night.

Winter trips

Cold, dark car parks are part of an early winter departure.

Leave a scraper and de-icer on the passenger seat for the drive home, note your row or bay before you walk away, and keep the booking reference handy for the barrier. A covered walk from Mid Stay P12 keeps the rain off on the way in.

Where the money goes

Over eight days, the gap between the cheapest and the most convenient long stay option is about £30.

That gap buys either a shorter transfer or keeping your keys. Maple saves the most but has the longest ride. JetParks 3 is the value middle. Mid Stay costs a little more for walking in. Choose the trade-off that suits your trip, then let the code take its 30%. On a two-week holiday the daily rate matters most; on a long weekend, the transfer matters more. Whichever you pick, book early for school holidays, when the cheapest sites fill first.

Security on a long stay

The airport uses number plate recognition; the off-airport operators describe CCTV, patrols and fencing.

Manchester Airport describes itself as an IPC accredited parking provider and uses number plate recognition across its car parks. It does not publish a Park Mark statement, so we do not claim one. The off-airport operators describe their own security, and we pass on their accounts without having inspected the sites.
