About Official Pod Parking
Pod Parking is Heathrow's Terminal 5 car park with its own driverless electric pods. You park, keep your keys and ride a pod to the terminal in about six minutes.
Pod Parking sits on Northern Perimeter Road, postcode TW6 2GX, and serves Terminal 5 only. Driverless electric pods run on their own guideway between two Pod Stations in the car park and the terminal. Heathrow says the trip takes about six minutes, and you should never wait more than 30 seconds for a pod.
Each pod carries up to four passengers and their luggage, and all pods are accessible. You call one with a simple touch screen. The pods run from 04:00 to 00:30 every day, and a shuttle bus covers the other hours. The system has 21 pods on about 3.8km of guideway.
You park your own car and keep your keys. Heathrow lists no height restriction at Pod Parking. On the day, it prices the car park from £59.60 a day.
Location and getting there
Heathrow sits between the M4 and the M25, west of London, and inside the ULEZ. Follow the Terminal 5 signs, then Pod Parking, to Northern Perimeter Road, TW6 2GX.
The pod ride is about six minutes, so most of your time goes on the drive and parking.

How the pods work
- Park. Leave your car in any free space and keep your keys.
- Walk to a Pod Station. There are two in the car park.
- Call a pod. Use the touch screen. The wait is under 30 seconds.
- Ride. About six minutes to Terminal 5, with up to four people and luggage.
When the pods do not run
Heathrow listed no pod service between the car park and Terminal 5 on Saturday 3 October 2026, after an earlier closure on 5 September. Check Heathrow's site for further works before you travel.
ULEZ and your car
Heathrow sits inside London's Ultra Low Emission Zone. Non-compliant vehicles pay £12.50 for each day they are driven in the zone. For this car park, Heathrow says you pay for the days you arrive in the car park in a non-compliant vehicle, normally the days you drive in and out.
