What Official Premium Parking is
Premium is the quiet bargain at Southend. Its dedicated spaces sit directly opposite the terminal, about a minute from check-in, yet on our sample dates it costs less pre-booked than Superior next door. For anyone who wants the shortest walk for a trip, it is the first car park to price.
Premium parking is a set of dedicated spaces directly opposite the terminal. The airport puts it about a minute's walk from check-in, and describes it as secure, well lit and regularly patrolled.
It is the only car park that kept its name when the airport renamed the others. Blue Badge bays are available, and the airport notes they are closer to the terminal than the ones in Budget.
Premium takes vehicles up to 2.0 metres tall and 5.0 metres long. Larger vehicles must go to Budget. Payment, as everywhere at Southend, is by card or contactless.
Where you'll park
London Southend Airport sits on the edge of Southend-on-Sea, beside Rochford, about 40 miles east of central London. Follow the airport signs to the terminal, then Premium.
Premium is signed separately from the Express lane and Superior, so watch for it on the final approach.

Why Premium beats Superior for a trip
Superior is priced as the airport's pick-up and drop-off car park, and its long-stay rate reflects that. Premium is priced for people parking for a trip. The result, on our sample dates, is that the car park with the grander name costs less. Superior still offers the nearest Blue Badge bays and suits short visits; for a week away, Premium is the better buy.

The one name that stayed
When the airport renamed Long Stay, Mid Stay and Short Stay, Premium kept its name. That makes it the easiest car park to match between an older booking, the signs on the day and our guides. The others now read Standard, Budget and Superior, so a confirmation that says Short Stay means Superior, not Premium.
The evening offer
For turn-up drivers, the airport runs an evening special in Premium: £10 for entering after 5pm and leaving by 3am. It suits collecting a late arrival or a short evening visit. It is not something you can pre-book through us, and it does not apply to trips.
