Terminal 2 has the widest choice at Manchester, from Maple at the bottom of the table to T2 West at the top. The spread is large, so the decision is mostly about how far you are willing to travel after parking.

What changed around Terminal 2 in 2026

Terminal 1 closed in March 2026, and the airport renumbered its car parks into a P1 to P16 scheme at the same time. Terminal 2 absorbed most of the old Terminal 1 traffic.

The old T2 East Multi Storey is now P1, the Meet & Greet car park. The old Terminal 1 multi-storey is now Mid Stay Multi Storey (P12), linked to Terminal 2 by a covered walkway. T2 West Multi Storey kept its role as the closest self-park, signposted P3, and went barrierless on 25 March. Sat-nav entries and guides written before 2026 can send you to the wrong place, so follow the P-number in your confirmation.

T2 West Multi Storey (P3)

T2 West is the closest place to park yourself at Terminal 2, and it has had no barriers since 25 March 2026.

Cameras read your number plate on the way in and out. There are no pay machines, so any charge outside a booking is paid online. The multi-storeys have a 2m height limit and a ten-day maximum stay. The Terminal 2 pick-up area is also inside this car park. See the multi-storey page.

Meet & Greet (P1)

The airport's Meet & Greet serves Terminal 2 only, from the former T2 East Multi Storey.

You drive into a bay where scanning technology records the car's condition, hand your keys in at reception and walk a few minutes to check-in. The minimum stay is four days. For a driver who meets you at the terminal instead, VIP Meet and Greet also serves Terminal 2. See the Meet and Greet page.

Mid Stay Multi Storey (P12)

Mid Stay is the walk-in middle ground: about 10 to 15 minutes to Terminal 2 under cover, with no shuttle and no minimum stay.

It is the old Terminal 1 multi-storey. You keep your keys, and it costs less than T2 West. The airport restricts some heavier vehicles here and offers an eligibility checker. See the Mid Stay page.

JetParks 1 and JetParks 3

JetParks 1 on Thorley Lane is Terminal 2's own shuttle car park, about five minutes by bus; JetParks 3 serves both terminals.

Both are the airport's budget car parks, with a three-day minimum stay. You keep your keys. JetParks 1 also doubles as the free drop-off point for Terminal 2, with a one-way shuttle from the car park to the terminal. See the JetParks page.

Off-airport options

Maple, APH and VIP Meet and Greet all serve Terminal 2.

Maple is the cheapest, at Carrington, with a shuttle of 20 to 30 minutes. APH, in Sharston, runs a bus every 15 minutes taking about ten. VIP Meet and Greet meets you outside the terminal. Time from car to check-in

At Terminal 2, the time from car to check-in runs from a few minutes to over half an hour.

Dropping off at Terminal 2

The Terminal 2 drop-off area charges £5.50 for up to five minutes and caps stays at 30 minutes; pay online by midnight the next day.

Drop-off areas are for dropping off only: picking someone up there triggers a £100 charge. The free alternative is JetParks 1, free for up to an hour, with a shuttle to Terminal 2. Our Manchester drop-off and pick-up page has the full rules.

Picking up at Terminal 2

Terminal 2 pick-ups happen in T2 West Multi Storey (P3), up to 15 minutes.

The pick-up postcode is M90 5PR. Stay longer than 15 minutes and an overstay charge applies, per the airport. Wait until the passenger has their bags before you drive in.

Early departures from Terminal 2

Terminal 2 handles many of Manchester's early holiday flights, so the car parks are busiest before dawn.

For a 6am departure, plan to be parked by around 4am if you are using a shuttle car park. The JetParks buses run through the night, and the multi-storeys and Meet & Greet need no bus at all. Security at Terminal 2

The airport's car parks use number plate recognition; the operators describe their own measures.

Manchester Airport describes itself as an IPC accredited parking provider and uses number plate recognition across its car parks. It does not publish a Park Mark statement, so we do not claim one. The off-airport operators describe their own security, and we pass on their accounts without having inspected the sites.
