Long stay at East Midlands means two official zones: JetParks and Long Stay. Each has two car parks. Mid Stay is the walk-in alternative, and it matters in winter, when the shuttle zones close.

Jet Park 1 is the cheapest product we bring you at East Midlands. Jet Park 2 costs a few pounds more for eight days. Both share the same shuttle and entry system.

Long Stay 2 and its walking route
Long Stay 2 is the only shuttle car park you can also walk from, in 15 to 20 minutes. It doubles as the airport's free waiting car park, with the first 60 minutes free.
The walk suits travellers with light luggage who would rather not wait for a bus. With a family and heavy cases, the free bus is the easier choice, and it runs about every 15 minutes.
The free hour makes Long Stay 2 useful for pick-ups too. A driver can wait there for a delayed flight rather than paying drop-off charges at the terminal.
What to book when Long Stay and JetParks close
The airport closes Long Stay and JetParks over the winter season. Mid Stay is then the cheapest official car park, a 5 to 7-minute walk from the terminal.

What to allow for the journey in
Allow the drive, the time to park, the wait for the bus and the ride itself. From JetParks, budget around 30 minutes from arrival to the terminal door on a busy day.
- Drive to your zone. Follow the JetParks or Long Stay signs from the airport road, not the terminal signs.
- Enter and park. The camera reads your plate. Park, lock up and note your row.
- Catch the free bus. Long Stay buses come about every 15 minutes. JetParks transfers take about 12–15 minutes.
- Head to check-in. The bus drops you close to the terminal entrance.
On the way home, the same buses run back from the terminal stop. Your plate opens the exit barrier, so there is nothing to pay on the way out.

Long stay suits trips of a week or more, travellers watching the budget, and anyone happy to take a short bus ride. It suits families with heavy luggage less well.

Getting to the long stay car parks
Leave the M1 at junction 24 from the north or 23A from the south, then follow the A453 and the airport signs. Look for the JetParks or Long Stay signs as you approach, rather than the terminal signs.
The long stay zones each have their own entrance off the airport road. Driving towards the terminal first and doubling back wastes time, so set your sat-nav using the directions in your booking confirmation. The terminal postcode, DE74 2SA, gets you to the airport, but not necessarily to the right zone.

Security at the official long stay car parks
JetParks and Long Stay are official airport car parks with number plate recognition at the entry and exit barriers. Your plate must match your booking, so check it carefully before you pay.
We have not confirmed a Park Mark award for East Midlands from the airport itself, so we do not claim one. What we can confirm is the barrier and camera system, and that these car parks are run by the airport rather than a third party.
Keep valuables out of sight and take anything important with you. That applies at any car park, but it matters more on a long trip.
