Official Long Stay explained
At most UK airports, long stay means a shuttle ride to a field on the edge of the site. Newcastle is different. Its Long Stay sits within walking distance of the terminal, and it is the cheapest car park the airport runs. There is a bus on request for anyone who would rather not carry cases.
Long Stay is Newcastle Airport's own budget car park. Resellers describe it as about 300 yards from the terminal. Most people walk it in five to seven minutes; a bus runs when needed and takes around two, per the same listings.
You take a ticket at the barrier on the way in, park in any space and keep your keys. On the way home, you insert the ticket at the exit or let the camera read your plate, depending on how your booking was made. The confirmation explains which.
The airport lists CCTV, security fencing, staff on site around the clock and number plate recognition, and says its car parks hold Park Mark accreditation. There is no height restriction, and the airport points motorcyclists here for stays of a day or more.
Getting there
Newcastle International Airport is at Woolsington, north-west of the city, off the A696. Follow the airport signs, then the Long Stay signs before the terminal forecourt.
Allow ten minutes from parking to the terminal door, a little more on foot with a family.

Safety and security
Newcastle Airport says its car parks hold Park Mark accreditation, and lists CCTV, fencing, security patrols and number plate recognition on the way in and out. That is the airport's own statement, taken from its help pages on 25 September 2026. Leave nothing of value on show, as you would anywhere.

Why the cheapest is not the furthest
Newcastle's car parks are packed tightly around a single terminal, so even the budget option is within walking distance. That changes the usual trade-off. Here you are not choosing between a cheap car park with a bus and a dear one with a walk; you are choosing between a slightly longer walk and a slightly shorter one.
It also means the price gap is small. Newcastle Park and Fly, an off-airport site on Ponteland Road, costs only 70p more than Long Stay across eight days on our sample dates, and it takes your keys and adds a bus ride. For most drivers, Long Stay is the easier choice at almost the same money.
Booked versus turn-up
The airport's own turn-up tariff for Long Stay climbs by the day, and for a week away it comes to several times the pre-booked price. The airport says pre-booking saves up to 60%, and our code takes a further 30% off the standard booked rate. Book before you leave the house, even on the morning of the flight.
Blue Badge bays and motorcycles
The airport says disabled parking in Long Stay is in Zone A, and resellers add Zone E. The bays are first come, first served, and standard charges apply. Put a photocopy of your badge on the dashboard, because the airport checks these bays. Motorcyclists are directed to Long Stay for any stay of 24 hours or more.
Using the bus
The bus runs when there are passengers to carry rather than to a timetable, per resellers, and the ride is about two minutes. With a buggy, a wheelchair user or several cases, wait for it. On a dry day with light luggage, the walk is quicker than waiting.
