Why Newcastle is different

At Newcastle, the code saves more than choosing a cheaper car park does.

The six products sit unusually close together. With the code applied, the gap from the cheapest to the dearest is £24.50 across eight days. The code itself takes off more than that on every single product. So the order of thinking is simple: pick the car park that suits your trip, then let the code do the saving.

That is the opposite of airports such as Manchester, where the off-airport sites undercut the official car parks by a wide margin. At Newcastle, the airport's own Long Stay is the cheapest thing on the list.

Four of the six are run by Newcastle Airport, and all four take the full 30%.

The airport also sells Premium Fast Track and Premium Long Stay directly. They are not in our search, so the code does not apply to them.

The two off-airport sites

Newcastle Park and Fly and Callerton Parking take 30% off too.

Both hold your keys and run a short bus to the terminal. Park and Fly is on Ponteland Road; Callerton Parking is at Woolsington. The airport names them among its affiliated off-site providers, and both appear in our search, but neither has a guide page on our site yet. Choose the car park first

Because the code takes the same share off everything, decide on the car park before you think about price.

Once the code is applied, the order of the table stays exactly the same. Choosing Short Stay 2 over Long Stay adds a little to the bill; choosing Long Stay over Short Stay 2 saves a little. Either way, the code has already done most of the work.

Families and groups

For a family, the extra few pounds for a closer car park often pays for itself.

Children, a buggy and several suitcases turn a five-minute walk into a fifteen-minute one, especially in wind and rain off the North Sea. With the code applied, Premium Meet & Greet costs only a little more than Short Stay 1 and takes the parking off your hands entirely. For a couple travelling light, Long Stay remains the obvious pick.

Tall vehicles and the code

The code works just as well on the car parks that take motorhomes and high-top vans.

Long Stay, Short Stay 1 and Short Stay 2 have no height limit, per the airport. Premium Meet & Greet does have one, and refuses cars with eight or more seats. For a large vehicle, book one of the three open car parks and let the code take its share as normal.

Short trips and day trips

For a stay of a day or more, book ahead with the code; for a few hours, pay on the day.

The airport says stays of up to four hours need no booking and can be paid on the day. From 24 hours upwards, it recommends booking online for the lowest rate. A day trip to London or a night in Amsterdam is exactly where a booking with the code beats the turn-up tariff by the widest margin, relative to the length of the stay.

When you need no parking at all

For a drop-off or pick-up, the cheapest option costs nothing.

The Airport Waiting Zone at Callerton Parkway is free for a short wait, with a shuttle to the terminal every half hour. The Tyne and Wear Metro also runs to a station at the terminal. Neither needs a code. Our Newcastle drop-off and pick-up guide explains both.

Using the code

Four steps, and the first is already done.

1. Search. Enter your dates; the code sits in the form.
2. Compare. All six products show their price for your dates.
3. Check. The saving shows before you pay.
4. Book. Confirmation arrives by email.

How days are counted

Newcastle prices by calendar day, so the clock times matter less than the dates.

The airport counts each calendar day your car is parked. Arriving on a Monday and returning the following Monday is an eight-day stay, even though it is only seven nights. Our sample prices use exactly that pattern. Check the dates in the search match your flights, not the nights at your hotel.

Against turning up

Pre-booking with the code costs a fraction of the airport's turn-up tariff.

Eight days in Long Stay on the airport's turn-up tariff comes to about £320. The same week booked with the code costs around a quarter of that. The airport's own advice is to pre-book any stay of 24 hours or more.

What the code does not touch

Charges paid to the airport on the day sit outside it.

Express and Short Stay short-stop charges, red route penalties and the cost of any overstay are separate. The airport's help pages say a late return on a pre-booked stay is charged per calendar day, while a later time on the same date needs no action. The Waiting Zone at Callerton Parkway is free anyway.

When to book

Book as soon as your flight is confirmed.

Prices vary with the season and how far ahead you book, per the airport. Half-terms, the summer holidays and Christmas push them up, and 2026 is set to be the busiest year in the airport's history. Booking early and using the code together give the lowest price.

Changing or cancelling

Bookings made with us can be cancelled up to 72 hours before arrival.

For a change of dates, amend the booking rather than paying overstay charges on the day. Use the driver's registration when booking for someone else, because the barriers read the plate.
