About Official EMA Short Stay 1, 2 & 3
Short Stay 1, 2 and 3 are the closest car parks you can park in yourself at East Midlands. The walk to the terminal takes one to five minutes, and Short Stay is open all year.
Short Stay is the closest self-park zone at East Midlands, a one to five-minute walk from the terminal. You keep your keys, and entry uses number plate recognition.
The three car parks differ in price. Short Stay 3 is the cheapest on our sample dates and Short Stay 1 the dearest. Short Stay 1 also serves as the airport's pick-up car park and the handover point for both meet and greet services.
Short Stay costs about £3 to £4 a day more than Jet Park 1 on our sample. For a short trip, an early flight or a family with luggage, that often pays for itself.
Location and getting there
Leave the M1 at junction 24 from the north or 23A from the south, then follow the A453 towards the airport. As you arrive, follow the Short Stay signs rather than the terminal signs. The terminal postcode, DE74 2SA, brings you to the airport, and the signs take you to the right entrance.
Short Stay is the closest zone to the terminal, so it is the easiest to find. The approach to Short Stay 1 also carries pick-ups and meet and greet traffic, so allow a few extra minutes at peak times.

Short Stay 1, pick-ups and meet and greet
Short Stay 1 is the airport's pick-up car park, at £6 for up to 30 minutes, with 30 minutes free for Blue Badge holders. Both meet and greet services hand over here too: the official service in its own area, and Midlands Parking in row C.
That makes the approach to Short Stay 1 busier at peak arrival times. Allow a few extra minutes, and follow the signs for the car park named in your confirmation.

Short Stay shines on trips of one to three days, where the extra cost is small. Over a fortnight the gap grows, and the shuttle zones save more.
