Express Drop-off charges at Glasgow
Express Drop-off costs £7 for up to 15 minutes, then £1 a minute. The airport lists £50 for stays past 30 minutes.

Fifteen minutes is enough for a hug and a bag out of the boot. Stay longer and the price climbs a pound a minute, and the airport warns that a premium charge applies on exit after 15 minutes. You pay at the exit barrier by card or contactless, with no card fee.
The free hour in Long Stay
Glasgow lets you leave your car in Long Stay free for up to an hour. Wait there, or ride the free shuttle to meet your passenger at the terminal.
- Drive to Long Stay. Arran Avenue, Paisley, PA3 2AY.
- Park up. The first hour is free.
- Take the shuttle or walk. The electric bus takes under five minutes, the walk under eight.
- Leave within the hour. After that, the Long Stay tariff applies.
That hour is far more generous than most UK airports. Edinburgh gives 30 minutes free, and Birmingham 10. It also means you do not have to sit in the car: ride in, meet your passenger at arrivals and come back together on the bus.
Waiting for a delayed arrival
For a long wait, use Long Stay or the Terminal Multi-Storey, never the Express Drop-off. The drop-off charge climbs steeply after 15 minutes.
Long Stay
Free for up to an hour, with a shuttle to arrivals. Watch the clock if the flight slips further.
Terminal Multi-Storey
Opposite the terminal. The airport points to free Wi-Fi and flight information while you wait.
Check the flight before you leave home. Most airlines and the airport's own site show live arrival times, which saves paying for a wait you did not need.
Blue Badge and assisted travel
Blue Badge holders must use the Terminal Multi-Storey, where they get 30 minutes free. Standard charges apply in the drop-off zone.
Show the physical Blue Badge at the exit barrier, because photocopies are not accepted. A badge can be used once in any 24-hour period. The airport also recommends the Terminal Multi-Storey for dropping off passengers who need extra assistance, since the walk into the terminal is short and covered.
Coaches, taxis and stops over 15 minutes
Coaches and buses drop off in Zone C. For any stop over 15 minutes, the airport directs drivers to the Terminal Multi-Storey.
Zone C has no height restriction, which suits larger vehicles. Private cars on a longer stop do better in the multi-storey or Long Stay than in the drop-off zone.
Drop-off and pick-up options compared
Long Stay is free for an hour but adds a shuttle. Express Drop-off is quickest but charged. The multi-storey sits between the two.

Park in Long Stay, ride the free shuttle to the terminal and meet your passenger in arrivals. Then ride back together.

- Ride or walk in. Under five minutes by bus, under eight on foot.
- Meet in arrivals. No need to circle the forecourt.
- Ride back. Return together before the hour is up.
With a lot of luggage, or a passenger who needs help, the Terminal Multi-Storey is the better choice. It sits directly opposite the terminal.
Early mornings and late nights
The Long Stay shuttle runs 24 hours, so the free hour works for a dawn drop-off or a midnight pick-up.
Express Drop-off is open for early departures too, and the charge is the same at any hour. At night, allow for fewer staff on the barriers and have your card ready for the exit.
Getting to the drop-off zone
Leave the M8 at Junction 28 and follow the Departures and Express Drop-off signs. For Long Stay, follow the Long Stay signs to Arran Avenue instead.

Plan the handover before you arrive: who carries which bag, and where you will meet on the way back. It saves minutes on the forecourt, and minutes are what you pay for.
Charging an electric car on the airport run
We have found no charging points listed at Glasgow Airport's own car parks or drop-off zone. Public chargers sit at the fuel forecourt on White Cart Road.
Charging listings such as Zapmap show chargers at the forecourt on White Cart Road, beside the airport. A driver doing a drop-off and a pick-up on the same day can top up there while waiting, rather than paying for time in the drop-off zone.
When parking beats the airport run
Two drop-off runs cost at least £14 in charges, plus fuel and two round trips for the driver. For a longer trip, parking your own car can cost little more.
