The Mid Stay walkway and the free zone
The One Hour Free Zone, used for pick-ups, shares the Mid Stay walkway to the terminal. Drivers meeting a flight walk the same route you do, a 3 to 4 minute uphill walk from the free zone.
Mid Stay is a paid car park. For a free pick-up of up to an hour, use the One Hour Free Zone instead, and do not leave and re-enter within the hour, because that carries a minimum charge.
