Express Drop & Go charges

Express Drop & Go costs £8.50 for up to 10 minutes and climbs to £30 for up to an hour. The airport raised the charges in January 2026, citing a business rates bill that more than doubled.

Drop & Go now sits in the Drop Off and Pick Up car park in the Public Transport Interchange. A covered walkway gives level access to the terminal. Payment is cashless.

The free Waiting Zone

The Waiting Zone at the Car Rental Centre is free for up to one hour. A courtesy bus runs to the terminal every 15 minutes, so passengers can ride across.

Two traps drivers fall into

Leaving the Waiting Zone and coming back within 30 minutes triggers an automatic parking charge. And the roads around the terminal are Red Routes, where stopping is not allowed.

The 30-minute no-return rule

Cameras log your exit. Re-enter within 30 minutes and a parking charge notice is issued automatically.

Double red lines mean no stopping at all, even for a moment. Enforcement is active, so wait in the Waiting Zone instead.

Picking someone up

Wait in the free Waiting Zone until your passenger has their bags. Then collect them from the Interchange, or let them take the courtesy bus to you.

  1. Park in the Waiting Zone. Up to an hour is free. Do not leave and come back within 30 minutes.
  2. Track the flight. Wait until your passenger has cleared baggage reclaim.
  3. Meet up. Your passenger rides the courtesy bus across, or you drive to Drop & Go for a short paid stop.

Blue Badge and assisted travel

Blue Badge bays are first come, first served and cannot be reserved. Passengers needing help from the car park to the terminal should contact the airport's Assisted Travel team in advance.
